Mr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacı Kara completed his undergraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1990. In 1994, he completed his Master's thesis titled "Rights and Obligations of Shareholders in Limited Liability Companies" and in 2004, he completed his PhD thesis titled "Legal Liability for Marine Pollution Damages Caused by Ships under International Conventions and Turkish Law" at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Private Law. He became a Professor in the Department of Commercial Law by the Interuniversity Board in 2018 with his Associate Professorship Thesis titled "Liability of the Carrier for Loss, Damage or Delay Arising from Loss, Damage or Delay under the Rotterdam Rules". Prof. Dr. Hacı Kara, who also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Southampton University Faculty of Law, is currently a faculty member at Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Law, Department of Commercial Law. Having worked as a freelance lawyer between 2001-2010 and co-founder of Kara&Partners Law Firm, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacı Kara is authorized and responsible for managing the legal affairs of P & I Clubs in Turkey. He is also an arbitrator before ITOTAM and ISTAC.
