Mr. Işık graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1958. He worked as an examining judge at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Council of State for 10 years. In 1969, he was transferred to Istanbul, where he worked at the State Company D.B. Turkish Cargo Lines (Turkish State Fleet), first as an Inspector, then as a lawyer, and later as a Legal Advisor. He retired from this position in 1985.
Subsequently, he worked as Claim Handler and Consultant at P & I Club Correspondents Omur Marine Ltd (1985 - 1990) and Vitsan Mümessillik ve Müşavirlik A.Ş. (1990 - 2011). Since 2012, he has been working as a Partner at Kara&Partners Law Firm.
He holds an "Advance International Legal Studies Certificate" from the American Pacific University and a diploma in "Public Administration, Higher Management" from the Institute of Public Administration.
He has written a handbook on P&I practices in Turkey and published "Carrier's Financial Liability, P&I Club Insurance" in 2006 and 2008.
